Drug Test Express
Employers who implement a drug testing program reap many benefits – such as increased productivity, lower healthcare costs and improved workplace safety. However, drug testing poses two inherent challenges:
- Identifying a convenient collection site, and
- Delivering the appropriate chain of custody form (CCF) to the applicant/donor
Available as a stand-alone service or integrated within ApplicantExpress, Drug Test Express solves both problems by combining online collection site identification and mapping with an electronic chain of custody form (CCF).
Simply register the applicant using the donor’s information such as name, contact details and identifying information. Drug Test Express considers collection site parameters, such as testing laboratory, distance from the collection site and third party locations. A map displays available collection sites; either the system user or the donor can select the specific collection site.
Not conducting drug screening? The risks are high:
Drug users cost employers millions of dollars every year.
The statistical evidence:
- 65% of those entering the workplace have used illegal drugs.
- 23% of all American workers use dangerous drugs on the job.
- 70% of illegal drug users have a full time job.
The impact on the workplace:
- Drug users incur 300% more in medical costs and benefit expenses.
- As many as 58% of on-the-job injuries can be attributed to alcohol/drug abuse.
- 30% of business failures are due to poor hiring practices.
- $42 billion a year is lost to drug and alcohol abuse.
Protect your organization:
Instituting a drug screening program enhances the quality of life in your work environment and helps make your employees happier, healthier, and more productive. For employers, drug screening lowers the incidence of workplace accidents, reduces insurance premiums and increases profitability.
Drug Testing Laws by State
The Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 requires some federal contractors and all federal grantees to agree that they will provide drug-free workplaces as a condition of receiving a contract or grant from a federal agency.
The Act does not apply to the following:
- Those that do not have, nor intend to apply for, contracts/grants from the federal government
- Subcontractors or Subgrantees
Employers not covered by the federal Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988 may be covered by the laws of their particular state(s). When there is both a federal and state law in existence, employers need to comply with the legislation that provides the greatest benefit to employees.
